Property Taxes are Due April 10, 2020

The deadline for the 2nd installment secured property tax payment is FRIDAY, APRIL 10, 2020.

While the County Treasurer-Tax Collector has no statutory authority to change the April 10 due date, as it is set by state law, the tax collector does have the authority to waive interest or penalties for those impacted directly due to the COVID-19 quarantine, illness, loss of job, or close of personal business.

If you can pay your property taxes on time, you are obligated to do os.  This is extremely important because many local agencies rely on our property taxes for the majority of their revenue.

You can make your payment by phone, online or mail your check.  The county will honor the post-mark date.

Most, if not all, county offices are closed so in-person payment may not be available.

The Alameda County Treasurer-Tax Collector will work with taxpayers on an individual basis to address hardships caused by the corona virus and the shelter-in-place order.
